If you're interested, this is what I've been up to recently (and not so recently). And if you're really interested, why not sign up for my newsletter? One client described it as ''like a drug – I can't get enough''. She's feeling much better now, though.

From X to dogxxxx

Already, my work on the X poster has been attracting new clients. Project management for Illuminating the Alphabet was provided by Synergy Communications, and ours was one of eight teams managed by a lady rejoicing in the name Olivia Sprinkel. (Hey, I've spent 34 years as Mike Reed, I'm allowed to point out other notable monickers.)

Olivia kept us in line, in the nicest possible way. And then she got in touch to offer me some work. I was dead chuffed: of the eight writers she'd been looking after, she chose me.

"Yes," said Olivia. "We'd like you to write a leaflet for Southwark Council. About dog mess."

Well, it's good to be brought back down to earth. (As long as you're careful where you tread.) Actually, it was quite a nice little job. (Sorry.) Southwark also happens to be my council, and I only have to walk to the pillar box to be reminded of how important this campaign is.

So thanks, Olivia. I look forward to doing more business with you soon.
