If you're interested, this is what I've been up to recently (and not so recently). And if you're really interested, why not sign up for my newsletter? One client described it as ''like a drug – I can't get enough''. She's feeling much better now, though.

Hello Kino

Kino Design logoWhat better way to return to work than by welcoming a new client? I'd no sooner sat back at the Mac when Kino Design got in touch with a nice little job to kick off the relationship. Naturally, I'm still smarting that their Olympic bid logo beat mine in the London 2012 competition, but something about them agreeing to give me paying work has made me feel much better. Funny, that.

If you can't get me on the phone, blame this guy

My current more-or-less absence from the office is, as you may already know, due to the arrival of Oscar James Bertie Reed, 7lb 9oz and no end of trouble in the delivery room.

Despite giving the midwives a heart attack, and causing a Casualty-style dash to the operating theatre for what they called a 'crash Caesar', the little fellow emerged unscathed. (Which is more than can be said for his poor mother, who now bears the scars of two recalcitrant boys.)

So if you're trying to get hold of me and failing, my apologies. I will get back to you as soon as I can. In the meantime, thanks to all who've sent very nice messages, and hopefully we'll be back to something like normal service next month.

Two new projects to look at

I've just added a couple of new projects to my Portfolio section, both the fruits of my ongoing partnership with the designers at Elmwood.

Pioneering Foods brochureThe first is a brochure for new food brand Pioneering Foods. Click here to have a look.

And the other one is a set of Christmas cards for the RAC. Yes, it's getting to that time of year again. Click here for a sneak preview of the festive season.

Welcome to the client list, Souk

Pegasus VenuesJuly saw the welcome arrival of a new name to my client list, as integrated communications agency Souk commissioned some direct mail copy for their client Pegasus Venues.

Pegasus is the name (created by Souk) for the company that hires out 13 leading racecourses for corporate events, meetings, conferences and so on. But even 3,000 acres of glorious British landscape don't sell themselves, so Souk and Reed Words have conjured up a couple of compelling mailers to tickle the fancy of those who book these sorts of events.

I can't show it to you yet - that wouldn't really be fair when it hasn't even reached its intended audience, would it? But the good people at Souk seem very pleased, so hopefully this won't be our last project together. Watch this space...
