There's a look of wry intelligence about the eyes, which gaze from behind a pair of gleaming spectacles. The fingers rest beside the keys of an Apple Mac, ready to type something forcefully compelling. And there's a black cat nearby.

But don't be fooled: this is not me. It is, in fact, Elizabeth Reed, owner of the website www.reedwords.com. And naturally, as soon as I discovered her site, I became concerned about potential confusion. So should you ever stumble upon reedwords.com, in your natural enthusiasm to visit reedwords.co.uk, here are some pointers to bear in mind.

Elizabeth has a distinguished head of silver-white hair, while mine is shorter and of an indeterminate but, thus far, darker shade.

Elizabeth also has a little iBook, whereas I cling to my flat-screen desktop Mac, even though the keyboard has become mysteriously filled with hairs from my own black cat. (Nice.)

Perhaps most importantly, Elizabeth says some rather wild things. RUSH JOBS ARE WELCOME, she proclaims. She even goes so far as to say ALL WORK GUARANTEED OR YOUR MONEY BACK. You'd never find me making such reckless declarations.

Just thought I should clear that up.
