VW: CO2 in the daytime is not enough
The new VW campaign is typically stylish and beautifully made and all that. But isn't it a bit out of synch with the times?These days we're all supposed to be concerned about reducing our carbon footprint (quite rightly - survival of the human race and all that).
But in its wisdom VW has decided that, in spite of the inevitable increase in emissions, we should try driving at night, as well as during the day. And even better - when there's absolutely no purpose to your drive. Just go for a drive. (Ideally listening to Under Milk Wood on the stereo. I do wish ad agencies would write their own stuff, and not just nick other people's work. It makes you wonder how insecure the copywriter must be.)
It's disappointing in the extreme that VW, surely one of the most trusted and adored brands in the world, should be this so cavalier about an issue of such importance. Shame on them.
(I know it's boringly old fashioned, but I'd also like to point out that I know nothing more about the car having watched the ad than I did before.)
