Attention Training

Attention Training is a free online programme that aims to help people change their drinking habits. We worked with the psychologists behind the programme to craft the interface, messages and alerts.

Attention Training consists of four 5-minute sessions, completed over the course of a week. Using a technique known as ‘cognitive bias modification’, it helps people reduce their cravings for alcohol – and helps the research community at the same time.

The interface needed to be clear and non-patronising. Most importantly, it needed to encourage people to complete the programme: drop-off is a major problem with bias modification training.
